Yes, We Can | Barack Obama and the Next Generation

I am not a political analyst, so take what I say here as simply my opinion on the amazing and exciting 2008 Presidential Election.  The fact that Barack Obama won this momentous election states that the USA may be getting past the crux of race vs. the issues, even when electing to the highest office in the land.  The breadth of his win is amazing and it states that the United States is evolving in a new direction.  Senator John McCain is a true patriot and I truly admire him and his unending service to our country; however, this election was not his time.

This event is so historic as it changes the way the citizens of the United States see itself, but also for people throughout the world as they will see the USA as being able to do what was thought impossible - to elect a liberal, non-White President.  This election win is certainly a celebration and a high-point for many Americans, but especially for all African Americans, and for any colored person in the United States to see that the USA truly is a place where all things are possible.

Being a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, I sometimes forget about the most popular locations that tourists enjoy during their visits here. In this case, the prison island of Alcatraz. Many years ago I took a tour at the prison (also a National Park), but since then, I hadn’t thought about going back. Heck, I see Alcatraz every time I cross the Bay Bridge. Then I had a close friend who said that she had an interesting story about the prison.

Day 2 of Prosecution Witnesses

Well, just wanted to give an update on my jury duty. I’m on day two, and will be hearing more prosecution witnesses today. The big hassle is that it takes forever to get to the courthouse do to crazy traffic and accidents on the road. On top of that there is NO parking. Otherwise, the case is interesting, and I’ll be sure to blog about it once it is done.

Doing the Civic Duty

I guess I just wanted people to know that the reason things have been a little light here, is because I’m serving on jury duty. I think that this will make for an interesting blog posting once I get off the case. This is my first time in regard to serving on a sitting jury. Should be interesting! Stay tuned.
